Project: h.w. herrell distributing
Location: Imperial, MO
Project Type: Expansion
Size: 20,000 sq. ft.
Overview: At H.W. Herrell Distributing Company, sales were growing and space was not. The team had a bid from a large national construction company to expand capacity and upgrade the facility. They decided to get a second opinion from Mike Pratt at Facility Planning. The value of a beer and beverage-focused owner’s representative became evident, and they hired Mike Pratt and Facility Planning to the job instead.
Project Highlights: Added 20,000 square feet of new construction. Implemented an innovative design that converted a 1920’s era back-in loading structure to a modern drive-through loading/truck storage area with new docks. Created a new draught cooler. Added Controlled Environment Warehouse (CEW) space and established a dedicated pick area. Comprehensive, beer and beverage process-oriented design significantly increased operational efficiencies.
